El Mehdi Largo, artiste plasticien, est né en 1992 à Mohammedia, Maroc.
Diplômé des Beaux-Arts du Mans en 2015, El Mehdi Largo vit et travaille à Paris. Incisif, il nous livre un art ancré dans le réel. La photographie, la vidéo, l’installation et la céramique sont ses techniques de prédilection. Il questionne l’étrangeté à travers les cinq langues qui le renvoie en ballottage, à la périphérie entre Europe (Italie, France) et son pays natal (Maroc).
Sa situation lui permet d’interroger la construction de l’étrangeté. El Mehdi Largo en dégage la norme, les structures à l’oeuvre, les points de contacts qui associent les sciences sociales à l’art et aux formes. Son désir de comprendre le monde, s’appuie sur son sujet qui est autobiographique, il en maîtrise les traversées spatiales et temporelles.
En 2016, il remporte le prix Dauphine du public, et est invité à exposer à la galerie du Crous pour l’exposition des lauréats du prix Dauphine. En 2020, il fait parti de la sélection Jeune Création et expose à la galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, à Pantin. Son travail a également été présenté à l’exposition Transports commune au siège de la Societé Generale (2020) et à l’exposition inaugurale État des lieux de la galerie La La Lande.
Plus récemment, El Medhi Largo a été invité à participer à une exposition à la galerie Bloom (Saint-Tropez, Eté 2022), mais aussi à une installation au sein de l’Espace Niemeyer (Septembre 2022), et à l’Art Fair d’Abu Dhabi (Hiver 2022).

El Mehdi Largo, visual artist, was born in 1992 in Mohammedia, Morocco.
A graduate of Fine Arts du Mans in 2015, El Mehdi Largo lives and works in Paris. Incisive, he gives us an art rooted in reality. Photography, video, installation and ceramics are his favorite techniques. He questions the strangeness through the five languages that send him in flight, on the outskirts between Europe (Italy, France) and his native country (Morocco).
His situation allows him to question the construction of strangeness. He draws out the norm, the structures at work, the points of contact that associate the social sciences with art and shapes. His desire to understand the world, is based on his subject which is autobiographical, he masters the spatial and temporal crossings.
In 2016, he won the Dauphine prize of the public, and was invited to exhibit at the Crous gallery for the exhibition of the winners of the Dauphine prize. In 2020, he was part of the Jeune Création selection and exhibited at the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery, Pantin. His work was also presented at the exhibition «Transports commune» at the Societé Generale headquarters (2020) and at the inaugural exhibition «État des lieux» at the La La Lande gallery.
More recently, El Medhi Largo has been invited to take part in an exhibition at the Bloom Gallery (Saint-Tropez, Eté 2022), as well as an installation at the Espace Niemeyer (September 2022), and the Art Fair in Abu Dhabi (Winter 2022).
