Fernanda Ballesteros, artiste pluridisciplinaire, est née en 1991 à Hermosillo, Mexique.
Écrivaine, Fernanda Ballesteros explore la vidéo, la peinture et la performance. En tant que productrice de documentaires, elle réalise en 2019 «The Death Cleaner» diffusé dans le New York Times et nominé pour un Emmy Award, ainsi que les documentaires «Rocío and me» en 2020 pour le New Yorker et «Nigeria’s Dancer For Change» en 2022 pour Al Jazeera.
Elle a récemment publié le roman «Segunda virginidad» (Paraíso Perdido, 2021) avec des illustrations de l’artiste Jan Melka. Son livre, «Arigatou goza-y-más» (Elefanta/ISC, 2019) a reçu le prix Libro Sonorense et a été traduit en anglais par Sendb00ks en 2021. Elle collabore avec l’illustrateur Israël Urmeer pour ses deux ouvrages. En parallèle, elle devient directrice de Littérature à l’état de Sonora au Mexique en 2020. Elle a participé à des expositions à Paris au Consulat Gaïté, à la galerie IAWT, au Silencio, au festival Isla et à La Totale (Studio Orta). Depuis 2023, elle organise Mardi Poésie, à travers des rendez-vous réguliers au Consulat Voltaire. En 2023 a lieu sa première exposition personnelle à la galerie Eva Pritsky.

Fernanda Ballesteros is a writer who explores video, painting and performance. As a documentary producer, in 2019 she directed «The Death Cleaner», which was broadcast in the New York Times and nominated for an Emmy Award, as well as the documentaries «Rocío and me» in 2020 for the New Yorker and «Nigeria’s Dancer For Change» in 2022 for Al Jazeera.
She also published the novel «Segunda virginidad» (Paraíso Perdido, 2021) with illustrations by the artist Jan Melka. Her book, «Arigatou goza-y-más» (Elefanta/ISC, 2019) received the Libro Sonorense Awardand was translated into English by Sendb00ks in 2021. She collaborates with illustrator Israel Urmeer on both of her books. She also became the director of Litterature at the State of Sonora, in Mexico. She has participated in exhibitions in Paris at the Consulat Gaïté, IAWT Gallery, Silencio, Isla Festival and La Totale (Studio Orta). Since 2023, she has been organizing Mardi Poésie through regular meetings at the Consulat Voltaire. In 2023, her first personal exhibition took place at the Eva Pritsky Gallery.
